Rent a Boat in Lake Lanier, GA

Lake Lanier serves up 38,000 acres of emerald-green water, more than 690 miles of wooded shoreline, and over 100 small islands—perfect for tubing, wakeboarding, fishing, or simply anchoring in a quiet cove near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

What to know

The most popular boat rental styles on Lake Lanier include:
• Pontoons, tritoons, and double-deckers with slides, great for family cruising, cove hopping, and floating cookouts.

• Wake, surf, and ski boats for towing tubes, wakeboards, and surf ropes, plus deck boats for all-around lake fun.

If you’re new to the lake—or want to relax rather than steer—book a captained rental. A local skipper can guide you to the best coves, rope swings, and dock-and-dine spots while keeping an eye on ever-changing weekend boat traffic.

Safety regulations

 • Boating License/Education Rules: In Georgia, anyone born on or after January 1, 1998 must carry a state-approved Boating Safety Education I.D. card to operate a powerboat or personal watercraft (PWC).
