How do I start my captain application?
You don’t need to do everything perfectly at once—you can always come back and update your info later.
What personal details do I need to provide? On the Personal Information step, you’re setting up your basic profile so we (and your future guests) know who you are and how to reach you.
Fill out:
Use the email you actually check—this is where booking alerts, messages, and payout notifications will land. A correct phone number makes last-minute coordination easy: “I’m at the dock,” “Running 10 minutes late,” etc.
This step is about trust and safety. The clearer your credentials, the easier it is for owners and guests to pick you with confidence.
Add your boating license type and license number, then choose the boat types you’re licensed to operate (for example: sailboat, yacht, luxury yacht, jet boat, catamaran, houseboat, fishing charter, diving charter). These selections help us match you with the right vessels instead of “anything that floats.”
Next, choose your experience range (0–1 years, 2–5, 6–10, or 10+). In the “Areas of expertise” field, describe what you’re best at in simple phrases like “sunset cruises,” “offshore trips,” “family days on the water,” or “fishing charters.”
If you have safety certifications—first aid, CPR, maritime safety courses—add them here and upload clear scans or photos of your documents. Good, readable uploads make verification faster and smoother.
Here you set how much you earn and how you get paid.
Enter your fee per day (in $). This is the captain price guests will see when they select you for their trip. Think about your experience, your local market, and the type of trips you’re happy to run.
Then add your payment details so payouts can be sent to you. Once this step is complete and your account is verified, you’re ready to appear as a bookable captain.
After you log in as a captain, you are good to go.
In the left-hand menu, you’ll find: My Profile, Availability, My Bookings, My Inbox, Payment Info, and Log Out. From here you can update your profile, set your schedule, review upcoming trips, and answer messages.
The My Bookings section shows all the trips where you’ve been selected as captain. For each booking, you can see the dates, the boat, the location, and the number of guests. Click into a booking to see full details and contact options.
Use this page to plan your week, avoid double-booking yourself, and prepare routes or activities in advance.
The Availability page gives you a Captain Availability Calendar so you decide exactly when you’re open for work.
At the top, you’ll see the current month (for example, November 2025) and a short note telling you to click to select the period to block the availability. Click individual days—or drag across several days—to mark yourself as unavailable for those dates. Some days may show a “manual” label to indicate that you’ve set them yourself.
There’s a Today indicator, so you always know where you are in the month. Your availability is what renters see when they choose a captain, so it’s worth keeping this calendar up to date.
Here’s what happens once a renter sends a booking that includes a captain:
You can use this thread to confirm the meeting point, timing, route, any safety notes, or special requests like “we’re bringing a photographer” or “we’d love a swimming stop.” Everything stays in one place, tied to that booking, so you’re not chasing texts or emails across different apps.
